That was the plan yep (great minds thinking alike and all that) I just didn't want to bog down an already pretty big rules blog.
It's not something they will always do on every interaction, only when applicable, but I might even say if they fail the result by 5 or more it could drop.
I find posts like this fascinating. There are always rules that don't quite work for the game or group (or yourself). To me, this is one of the beauties of table-top role playing games — find something interesting in another system? Use it. Don't like a specific rule? Drop it. Chop and change how you see fit. Thanks for sharing.
Really love these kinds of troubleshooting posts. The “improving mood” over time with RP+mechanics is terrific. Great stuff.
Thanks so much!
I like the mechanic for increasing NPC disposition! Can it also decrease if, say a PC attempts to improve relations but rolls a 1?

Might just borrow this for my SD game.

Awesome! I'm glad I posted it then, I was worried no one would care and I would have wasted my time so I'm glad that wasn't true.
And I totally agree, use the rules you want, steal the rules you wish you had, and drop the rules you don't like.
I don't think I've played a TTRPG in decades that didn't have homebrewed changes.
Borrow away my friend!
