This is the second post for my solo Shadowdark game running The Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands. I use italics for oracle rolls, mechanics, and explanations.
Love the write up. Not a made up narrative but just your thoughts and the dice/Oracle. What I am wondering though is, I thought this was a premade adventure. Are there any parts where you check what the adventure says?
I'm glad you like it and there are definitely parts where I checked the adventure. This happens more once we get to the dungeon proper and I'm trying to just check each room as I go. In town, I read the overview section. It's pretty much the part you would hand to your players and then when they visited a location, I would read it more in detail.
When playing a pre-written adventure solo I definitely think one of the biggest challenges is finding the line between reading ahead so you know what will happen and not spoiling surprises. I think everyone has their own way or generator to do this and for me I just don't read very far ahead and try to segment what I know versus what the charactersn know.
Strika needs to get his sh** together or this is going to be a very short series of posts XD
Totally, the dice have not loved him.
Kinda crazy since his stats are pretty good.
I'm considering giving him a new tag/trait if this keeps up.
